China Daily's "New Age Lecture Hall" with the theme of "New Era of China-Africa Cooperation" opened at Beijing Language and Culture University. In a keynote speech, Jin Liqun, President of the Asian infrastructure investment bank, pointed out that the "one belt road initiative" and the Asian investment bank support each other, and will play an important role in promoting Africa's development and Promoting Sino African cooperation.
He pointed out that the Asia Investment Bank and the "one belt and one road" are all China initiatives, advocating openness and tolerance and striving for common goals. Asia Investment Bank expects to benefit from the "one belt and one way" development project, and at the same time help to develop the "one belt and one way" development, providing support for the "one belt and one way" construction in terms of standards, finance, capacity building and environmental and social policies.
Jin Liqun also said that China and Africa could become stronger and more comprehensive strategic partners. Today's development of Africa is getting better and better, but there are still many things to do. "I think Asian countries have a responsibility to support Africa's development."
Jin Liqun said: "Africa has great potential for development, but its challenges are also very arduous. Asia Investment Bank will provide a series of innovative services to support Africa's development. We will not give Africa a finger-pointing, but will listen to the advice of the African people, understand the needs of Africa, and work together to develop the best programs to improve the livelihood of the African people.
Jin Liqun said that as early as the establishment of the Asian Investment Bank, the vision not only to Asia, but also to the region outside Asia. "Because we believe that Asia cannot achieve sustainable development without close cooperation with other regions.
"Asia Investment Bank adhere to the principle of openness, tolerance and cooperation. While its business focus is on Asia, it also attaches great importance to business development in Africa, promoting investment in African member countries and cooperation with other multilateral development banks such as the World Bank, the African Development Bank and the Islamic Development Bank.
The bank now has six African members: Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, South Africa and Sudan.
Jin Liqun believes that Africa should export more manufactured and processed industrial products. To achieve this goal, it is only through technological upgrading that African countries can increase their productivity.
